PLEASE CAN YOU DELETE THEM COMPLETELY OUT OF YOUR SYSTEM AS THEY BOTH HAVE A DELAYED VIRUS ATTACHED TO THEM THAT WILL BE ACTIVATED ON CHRISTMAS DAY AND WILL WIPE OUT YOUR SYSTEM. LET EVERYONE KNOW OF THIS.

We have received voluminous number of samples of ELFBOWL.EXE file. After thorough analysis, we came to know that there is no virus in the files we received.

The message sent as a warning, which carries email subject as Virus is a Hoax. The text of the email contains

Subject: VIRUS

On December 25, you will get an e-mail named "Lump of Coal". DO NOT OPEN IT. IT IS A DEADLY VIRUS. This is not a hoax. It was reported on CBS.

Get the word out. E-mail this to as many people as you can.

WOBBLER VIRUS HOAX

Information about the wobbler virus hoax:

The email message widely circulated among the internet users regarding the Wobbler virus is a hoax. There is no such virus named as Wobbler virus. The message sent regarding the Wobbler virus will have the subject as"WARNING".

The message itself will be as;

If you receive an e-mail with a file called California, do not open the file. The file contains the WOBBLER virus. This information was announced yesterday morning from IBM; AOL states that this is a very dangerous virus, much worse than "Melissa", and that there is NO remedy for it at this time. Some very sick individual has succeeded in using the reformat function from Norton Utilities causing it to completely erase all documents on the hard drive. It has been designed to work with Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer. It destroys Macintosh and IBM compatible computers. This is a new, very malicious virus and not many people know about it. Pass this warning along to EVERYONE in your address book ASAP so that this threat may be stopped.

If you receive this message, just delete the email. Do not circulate this message to others.

SULFNBK.EXE HOAX

Information about the SULFNBK.EXE Hoax:

These messages sent as a warning is a Hoax. Please note that the Magistr virus-worm can choose SULFNBK.EXE file to infect and send it out. If you receive any mail with attachment by SULFNBK.EXE then delete the E-mail message and never run the attachment.

Message 1 :
" Virus SULFNBK.EXE
Instructions to find and delete it.
1. Start and got to Find Files. Type the name: SULFNBK.EXE
2. If it is there, open Windows Explorer, look for the filewhere you found it, and then delete. Don't left click and don't open it even if there is a fire, o.k.?
3. Just delete it.
4. Mine was in Windows/Command.
5. The person wh passed this warning to me found it in Windows/Config.

And Norton did not discover it..."

Message 2 :Recently,it has been identified one of the Virus
which is one of the most dangerous of its kind, which
- Travels alongwith PLAIN email Msgs (even without attachment) & seats on 'C:\windows\command' folder.
- No Antivirus Packs viz.McAfee,Norton etc detects it or Wipes it out.
- The Virus Will get activated on 1st June 2001.- The Virus may Wipe out all the files & folders from your Hard Disk Drive.

To find out & get rid of the virus,pls do the following:
Go to the "START" button.
Go to "FIND" or "SEARCH"
Go to "FILES & FOLDERS"
Make sure the find box is searching the "C:" drive.
Type in: SULFNBK.EXE
Begin search.If it finds it, highlight it.
Go to 'File' and delete it.
Close the find Dialog box
Open the Recycle Bin
Find the file and delete it from the Recycle bin
You should be safe.

A VIRTUAL CARD FOR YOU HOAX

Information about the A Virtual Card For You Hoax:

The message sent as a warning is a Hoax.Recently a new virus was discovered that was classified by MICROSOFT www.microsoft.com and by MCAFEE www.mcafee.com to be the most damaging of all time! This virus was discovered late yesterday by MCAFEE and still there is no development of a vaccine!

This virus simply writes zeros on the hard drive, where the vital information for the operation of the PC is kept. The virus activates in the following manner:

1. By email it is received with the title 'A VIRTUAL CARD FOR YOU', when opening the message, it sends itself to all in the address list soon...

2. It hangs the machine, forcing the user to reboot the system.

3. AT the moment in which the keys ctrl+alt+del or the RESET button is pressed, it writes zeros to the hard drive making it unusable forever.

By the previous information, please, take precaution with the use of electronic mail and, of course, if you receive an email which you do not know the origin of, simply delete it without opening.

JDBGMGR.EXE HOAX

Information about the Jdbgmgr.exe hoax :

The messages sent with the following content is a Hoax. The contents of the hoax message varies.

I found the little bear in my machine because of that I am sending this message in order for you to find it in your machine. The procedure is very simple:

The objective of this e-mail is to warn all Hotmail users about a new virus that is spreading by MSN Messenger. The name of this virus is jdbgmgr.exe and it is sent automatically by the Messenger and by the address book too. The virus is not detected by McAfee or Norton and it stays quiet for 14 days before damaging the system.

The virus can be cleaned before it deletes the files from your system. In order to eliminate it, it is just necessary to do the following steps:

1. Go to Start, click "Search"

2.- In the "Files or Folders option" write the name jdbgmgr.exe

3.- Be sure that you are searching in the drive "C"

4.- Click "find now"

5.- If the virus is there (it has a little bear-like icon with the name of jdbgmgr.exe DO NOT OPEN IT FOR ANY REASON

6.- Right click and delete it (it will go to the Recycle bin)

7.- Go to the recycle bin and delete it or empty the recycle bin.


IF YOU FIND THE VIRUS IN ALL OF YOUR SYSTEMS SEND THIS MESSAGE TO ALL OF YOUR CONTACTS LOCATED IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK BEFORE IT CAN CAUSE ANY DAMAGE.
